Online Safety
Children at Ashperton Primary Academy use the internet on a regular basis as part of their learning. In school, we teach 'online safety', to remind children of the importance of keeping themselves safe when using technology(computers, tablets, phones and gaming devices).
In school we follow the S M A R T rules for staying safe online.

We had a very successful Safer Internet Days each year where each class participate is a variety of activities. Parents are supported and informed about online safety through, displays, leaflets, magazines, events and emails.
We recommend that each home talks about e-safety and creates their own set of rules. Discussions could involve how long your children use the computer or games console and whether the computer games are suitable for their age and whether the ‘friends’ they are playing with online, really are friends they know in the real world.
If you do need to report anything that has happened online, you can report to CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection) using this button. You will see this button on lots of other websites.

NSPCC Parent Workshop
We were delighted to have a bespoke Online Workshop delivered to parents this month by the NSPCC.
For #SaferInternetDay @NSPCC has created a bespoke workshop that will help give parents and carers an understanding of how young people game online and knowledge of tools and resources that can help to keep them safe. Watch it here:
