Lunch Ordering System

We are delighted to be working with Victoria from The Granary at Green Farm, who will be providing fresh, delicious, home-cooked lunches for our children. We are confident that this new partnership will offer high-quality, nutritious meals that our pupils will enjoy.

Lunches will continue to be free for all Key Stage 1 children through the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme. However, we kindly ask that you only order a school lunch if your child will be eating it, as the school is charged for every meal ordered.

We also encourage all families to check whether they are eligible for Free School Meals, even if their child is in Key Stage 1 and already receives universal free meals. Registering for Free School Meals helps the school secure additional funding, which benefits all of our pupils.

School lunches are now available to order through Arbor. A help guide is available here. Please note that lunches must be ordered at least TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE. Unfortunately, there will not be any spare meals available each day, so if a lunch has not been ordered, your child will need to bring a packed lunch from home.

There will be three meal options available each day:

• A hot meal
• A hot vegan meal
• A cold option

All of these options can be prepared gluten free if required. Please ensure you select the gluten-free option when placing your order.

Packed Lunches - important information

We currently have children in school who have nut allergies. People who suffer from nut allergies can develop a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction. If someone has a nut allergy it is not just eating nuts that can cause a severe reaction, just being touched on the skin or smelling the breath of someone who has had nuts or a product containing nuts can trigger anaphylactic shock (which can cause breathing and swallowing difficulties). First aid staff in the school are trained to use the Epi-pens (an injection of adrenalin) which is required immediately if this happens. We cannot have nuts in school in any form.

So please can we ask that you have no nut products in the lunch boxes or brought into the school as treats.

For example:

Peanut butter sandwiches, chocolate spreads, cereal bars some granola bars, cakes that contain nuts, biscuits / cookies that contain nuts, peanut butter cakes, pesto, satay sauce.

This list is not exhaustive, so please check the packaging of products closely. We appreciate that this is an additional thing to check but we know that you recognise the importance of it.

We do have to insist we are a nut free school as it is a life-threatening condition.

Free School Meals

All primary school children in Reception year, Year 1 and Year 2 in Herefordshire are entitled to Universal Infant Free School Meals.

• All existing Free School Meals must be rechecked – you will need to reapply for FSM
• Eligibility is no longer automatically protected year to year

• You will need to reapply or provide updated information
• If we cannot confirm eligibility, your child may no longer receive free meals

• You are likely to be eligible
• Please apply (or reapply) for Free School Meals

• You must still complete a new application

• We strongly encourage you to apply
• The process is quick and confidential

• Applications are open from 1st June 2026
• We recommend applying as early as possible to ensure support is in place for September

• A healthy meal each school day
• Additional funding for the school to support your child’s education (if eligible under certain criteria.
