School produce cake sale
On Thursday morning there will be a cake sale at playtime in which we will be selling a selection of homemade courgette, plum, apple and blackberry cakes and muffins. All the fruit and vegetable ingredients will come from our allotment and Mrs Bullock’s garden, and the cakes will be baked by some of the pupils. We are hoping to do this regularly with different groups of pupils, producing a selection of sweet and savoury snacks to sell such as mini quiches, vegetable crisps, puff pastry vegetable rolls and smoothies. We will ensure that children with allergies and food intolerances are catered for should they also wish to purchase a snack. This will be an excellent way to fundraise to continue to develop our school outdoor environment. Furthermore, it shows the children how our home grown produce can be used in a range of recipes, models sustainability in action and demonstrates how healthy, locally grown produce can be delicious! If you would like your child to purchase a fruit or vegetable muffin, please could they bring in £1 on Thursday.
